DBR Staff Writer Published 03 January 2013

Soft drinks giant The Coca-Cola Company has acquired its California-based independent bottler Sacramento Coca-Cola Bottling Company.

The sale, reportedly, approximates nine times earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA).

Sacramento Coca-Cola currently distributes Coca-Cola products in all or part of the nine California Counties of Sacramento, Yolo, Solano, Placer, El Dorado, Amador, Stanislaus, Sutter and Tuolumne.

Sacramento Coca-Cola Bottling president and CEO said, "We believe this is the right action to ensure the continued success of Coca-Cola in Northern California."

Coca-Cola Refreshments president and CEO Glen Walter said, "We appreciate all that The Sellers family has done to build our brands and look forward to carrying on their legacy of service to the people of Northern California."
